- This useful (but large) page explains IBM's pointers on what to watch out for if you want to change the system date. They recommend that you use a non-production, stand-alone system to perform year 2000 testing! We DO NOT recommend that you change the system date unless you acquire a completely separate box for your year 2000 testing exclusively and ensure that the test AS/400 is not on any LANs or WANs with regular development or production machines.
